Where Can I Buy Guatemala Coffee Beans For The Best Quality

We didn't start Via Guatemala Coffee as just another business. For our founder, Silvia, this company emerged from her journey - from a challenging childhood in Guatemala to creating a brand with purpose.

After building VIASWORLD, a fashion and design company serving clients like the NBA and NFL, Silvia wanted to create something that would directly support the people of Guatemala. That's how Via Guatemala Coffee was born - a way to connect coffee lovers with exceptional beans while changing lives.

Coffee Regions That Make Guatemala Special

Guatemala isn't just another coffee origin. The country sits where volcanic fire meets mountain mist. The coffee grows in eight regions, each with a personality as distinct as your family members.

Huehuetenango (locals call it "Huehue") sits crazy high in the mountains. The farmers here battle cold temperatures, but weird warm winds from Mexico protect the plants from frost. These conditions create beans with a kick–the bright, almost tangy flavor unlike anything else we offer.

Antigua? That's coffee growing in the shadow of three volcanoes. Every few years, one spits ash across the plantations. Sounds terrible, right? But this volcanic soil creates beans with this rich chocolate taste that lasts long after you sip. Nature's weird that way.

San Marcos experiences unpredictable rain that drives farmers nuts, but it also gives the beans this subtle floral smell—not perfumey—more like walking past your neighbor's garden on a warm day.

We created our Explorer Collection because tasting is believing. Words don't do these regions justice.

Coffee Isn't Business Here – It's Life

Coffee runs through Guatemala's veins. Visit any highland village, and you'll find families roasting beans in clay pots passed down through generations. The smell hits you before the bus even stops.

In Guatemala City's cafés, young baristas blend old traditions with new techniques, respecting their heritage while pushing boundaries. This tension between old and new creates a vibrant coffee scene that inspires our approach to roasting.

We Go Beyond "Fair Trade"

When Silvia started Via Guatemala Coffee, she saw how "fair trade" labels didn't always translate to fair treatment. Having witnessed struggles in Guatemala firsthand, she built our company differently.

We pay our Mayan farmers better wages than most buyers. We're not a charity - we believe good business means fair partnerships. Our farmers use proper farming methods because they can afford to take the time to do things right.

We hear stories from farmers whose lives have changed - from being able to send their children to school consistently to making improvements to their homes. These aren't just business transactions - they're partnerships that lift entire communities.

A portion of our profits goes to causes Silvia is passionate about, particularly supporting domestic violence shelters and education for orphans in Guatemala. Having overcome hardship, Silvia is determined to create pathways for others to do the same.

Try our Premium Roast. Those clean, complex flavors come from farmers who can afford to take their time.

From Volcanic Soil to Your Cup

Every bean we sell begins in dark volcanic soil at altitudes between 4,000 and 6,000 feet. Farmers pick cherries by hand between December and March, working slopes we wouldn't want to climb without safety gear.

Most use the washed process, removing fruit in water before sun-drying. It's labor-intensive but creates the clean taste Guatemala is famous for.

We roast in small batches, ensuring each region's unique character emerges. The Medium Roast captures those chocolate and caramel notes with just enough brightness to wake up your taste buds—there is no burnt bitterness here.

Finding Your Coffee Soul-Match

Some mornings need Huehue's brightness, while Sunday afternoons might call for Antigua's chocolate richness. Your preference is personal, like choosing music for different moods.

Are you new to Guatemalan coffee? Start with our Signature Blend. It's approachable without being boring—training wheels that still go somewhere interesting.

Some customers buy beans from different regions and taste them side by side. Brew them the same way; taste black first. The differences immediately emerge, sparking conversations that last through the second cup.
